How do I program the buttons on a Nortel Norstar Featurephone?

How do I program the buttons on a Norstar Featurephone?

You can program buttons (memory keys) for one-touch dialling to internal or external telephone numbers, or system Features such as Speed Dial or Last Number etc.

All programming must be done with the Handset in the rest and free of calls.

To see what a Key is currently programmed for press Feature *0 Then press the Key you want to check.


Autodial key programmed for an external number:

  1. Press Feature *1. The display briefly shows External autodial.
  2. Press any key.
  3. Press the key you want to programme. This step is not necessary on the M7100 orM7100N telephones which have only one memory key.
  4. If you want this autodial key to use a particular line or line pool, select that line or line pool.
  5. Enter the external number.
  6. Press Hold or OK when you are finished.
  7. The display shows Programmed.


Autodial key programmed for an extension number:

  1. Press Feature *2. The display briefly shows Internal autodial.
  2. Press any key.
  3. Press the key you want to programme. This step is not necessary on the M7100 orM7100N telephones which have only one memory key.
  4. The display shows Extn#.
  5. Enter the extension number.
  6. The display shows Programmed.


Autodial key programmed for a System Feature.

  1. Press Feature *3. The display briefly shows Program Features.
  2. Press any key.
  3. Press the key you want to programme. This step is not necessary on the M7100 orM7100N telephones which have only one memory key.
  4. The display shows Feature Code.
  5. Enter the Feature code e.g. System Speed Dial = Feature 0.
  6. The Display Shows Programmed.

Note: Autodial numbers must be programmed to memory keys and not to line keys, intercom keys, the Handsfree/Mute key, or Answer keys.
